“Zionist Union leader Avi Gabbay faced criticism from MKs in his party Tuesday for telling party activists at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev on Monday that “the Left forgot what it means to be Jewish.” Does this quote indicates a shift from the left to the right? Is it a main difference between left thinking and right thinking in Israel? Could this quote also show that the difference is Universal, not just Jewish but that the difference is psychological in all personalities? Avi Gabbay is a leftist leader. He is the head of the Zionist Union, the leftist opposition in the Israeli Knesset. He had an insight that his leftist friends cannot accept: Leftist thinking is collectivist, global and anti nationalistic whether it is Jewish nationalism (Bait Yehudi), Israeli nationalism (Menachem Begin) or British nationalism (Brexit!). True, the Jewish left in Israel forgot what it means to be Jewish! My statement is not an indictment of the left. it is to teach my readers, as I have promised you, about the differences between the left and the right in business and relationships so you can select better partners to fit you. The left is Maxist, Carl Marx wrote at the end of his book Das Capital, “The goal is the withering of the State.” The only reason the leftist party in Israel calls itself the Zionist Union is to get more votes during elections. The left cannot be true Zionist unless it has the insight of Gabbay and accept that they don’t know how to be Jewish! If they do that they would be finished as a political party! Zionism is Jewish nationalism and Gabbay got it. What rift it will cause to Mapai, the labor party of the first prime minister of Israel David Ben Gurion is yet to be seen. I predict that Israel itself is moving to the right in order to find its Jewish roots! Good or bad, I leave it out to you to decide. If you are leftist you probably say Bad (except Gabbay) and if you are rightist you probably say Good! Enjoy!
Abraham was born Av-ram (exalted father in Hebrew) around 1780 BC to the Habiru tribe, people from the city of Ur in western Babylon not far from where Kuwait is today. His father Terah (hard worker in Hebrew) and his brother Nahor (snorer in Hebrew) were successful “Elilim” merchants who worshipped local gods. Both the father and the older brother failed to apprentice young Av-ram to sell “Elilim” in Terah’s shop, probably because Av-ram was a spiritual boy and rumours of the one-God ware sweeping Ur. The incredible law-of-one sea people, now called the Hyksos, just left on their way to Egypt after leaving their Hebrew mark on Mesopotamia. (they conquered Egypt in 1792 BC). The new Babylonian king Hammurabi, who lived in Sippar about 40 miles north-west of Ur wrote a code of enlightened laws that influenced Av-ram to start planning his exit north from Ur in search Elohim (500 years later, many of these Hammurabi laws were incorporated by Moses into the Torah). Ur at the time of Hammurabi was a minor kingdom with ancient Hebrew roots planted by the sea-people who gave rise earlier to the prospering Habiru tribe. In 1755 BC Av-ram married Sarai (Sarai means my female minister in Hebrew), a beautiful young princess, one of the daughters of the ruler of Ur. His exit strategy began with a caravan wedding trip west to Egypt to learn about El. Upon his return to Ur, he packed his family and sheep and left Ur to go to Hevron (friendship city in Hebrew) in Canaan, about 200 miles to the west. As soon as he and his extended family crossed (crossed=avru=Hebrew) the Euphrates near the place where the second Garden of Eden existed 3972 earlier, he heard a voice saying in Hebrew, lech lecha miartsitcha umimoladetcha... (leave your country, birth place and your father’s home and go to the land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you). I think, at that point, Av-ram experienced being overwhelmed by his visions. Instead of turning left towards Hebron 200 miles away, he turned north and walked 200 miles to Haran (today’s Syria) and turn left and walked 200 miles down south to Hevron. After 40 years of traveling from Ur, accumulating kids and wealth on the way and becoming a 99-year-old patriarch of big clan, he finally arrived in Hebron and bought burial land there. Av-ram was discouraged, but then a big event happened. At 100 and Sarai at 90, they had the promised son Itzhak (to laugh in Hebrew). He celebrated by performing the brit bain habetarim sacrificial ritual, a permanent covenant with God who changed Avram’s name to Avraham (father of nations) and Sarai’s name to Sarah (a female government minister in Hebrew). From that moment on all Jewish babies would be circumcised at 8 days after birth (brit mila).. By the time Izhak had Yaakov and Yaakov had 12 sons and a daughter and children, the clan grew to 70 people. In 1650 BC they traveled to Egypt because of famine in Canaan and became slaves to the first pharaoh, not a Hyksos. In about 1270 BC they were 600,000 people, revolting against Ramses II. Soon, Moses took them out of Egypt to go back home to Canaan (today Jews all over the world celebrate Pesach to commemorate the Exodus from slavery to freedom). When Joshua conquered Canaan in 1230 BC they were still only 600,00 after 40 years in the Sinai desert, but now fierce nomads! By the time the Kingdom of David peaked in 975 BC the Hebrew people were a solid nation of 2 million people, about 2% of the world population at that time!
In the library of the university of Virginia Beach in Virginia there is a text of readings about the Sea People. These remarkable people who mastered the Bronze age are also mentioned in the Bible as the original Philistines! They built Tarshish and the Greek Acropolis before they brought the first pyramid to Egypt around 7000 BC. According to Edgar Cayce, the Sea People migrated east to the Mediterranean area, especially Egypt and Canaan, from western regions in the islands of the Azores, Morocco, Atlas mountains, Spain and Greece during and after a giant flood that local legends described occurring 9000 years ago! They brough the bronze age to Canaan. Here it gets really interesting. Edgar Cayce describes a civil war within the sea people nation just before migrating east, probably triggered by flood stress, but more likely over religion. You see, he says, half the people were monotheistic (the first worshipers of Elohim, not just sun worshipers like the Hyksos were). These insightful Sea People he calls “followers of the law-of-one,” and opposing them were atheistic Sea People he calls the Bliel people (“without God” in Hebrew). Edgar Cayce did not know Hebrew. The Bliel people won the war and the believers in the one God escaped some to Greece in the west but mostly to Mesopotamia in the east, and from there to Egypt (first Dynasty), and then to Canaan. In the Torah they are considered the good Philistines, spared by Joshua during the conquest of Canaan. In Canaan they settled on the edge of the Sinai peninsula by the sea and built two cities – Gaza and Ashdod. In the Bible the sea people became known as the Philistines, the indigenous people of Canaan (Palestine is a Roman term derived from the word Philistine in the Bible) who were friends of Abraham who migrated from Ur in Mesopotamia to Canaan and bought land in Hebron near Gaza in 1800 (The time the Hyksos got to Egypt). The Bible say he became a close friend with his neighbor Abimelech, King of the Philistines. Later, the Philistines became corrupted by idol worship of the defeated tribes of Canaan, but when Abraham got there they were still monotheistic. About 500 years later, right after Moses time, in Genesis, God told Joshua to destroy all the idol worshiping tribes of Canaan, but spare the Philistines! These incredible sea people who settled by the sea had a language that was not Hebrew but many ancient Philistine words were of Hebrew origin (or vice-versa, no way to know), such as Seren, a local leader (Seren is the rank of a captain in the Israeli army today), Baal (husband in Hebrew today), Dagon (small fish), Caphtor (Button in Hebrew), mishkeh (mashkeh is a drink in Hebrew, you see, the Philistines liked to have orgies and drink alcoholic beverages) Later in history, when the two Canaanite nations became enemies, Samson went to Gaza to have a drinking orgies with Delila their queen (read the Biblical story of tamut nafshi im plishtim). By that time the two Canaan nations became bitter enemies and fought a lot (aggravated today by being Muslim, although monotheistic!), the Philistines captured the Ark of the Covenant (Samuel 4:1-10) but David defeated the Philistines’ strongman Goliath. But in earlier times when Joshua entered Canaan, re-conquered Hebron (Abraham’s city) and Lachish near Gaza, the Philistines were their friends, that is why of all the Canaanite tribes ordered to be destroyed by Joshua the Israelite commander, the Bibles says the Philistines were spared! Both Peoples were monotheistic believing in one God at the time of Joshua, until the early Philistines were corrupted by the defeated heathen tribes of Canaan. The next segment will take you deeper into monotheism, how did Abraham really got it!
Today I am 76 by the Jewish calendar, year 5772 since Adam and Eve. This is the first time in many years that I decided to go to Jewish services at Habad on the Sabbath. My friends Max and Marjorie Gross from South Africa were there. My wife Leah from Montreal came too. We had a great time with Rabbi Meir Kaplan and the congregation. I sponsored the Kiddush and read my Haftarah called Nitzavim. I am glad I went. The Rabbi spoke about all the Jews standing up (Nitzvim) and be counted. We are a community. One of this days I will find the time to write a shot autobiography of myself, how I came from Israel and landed in Victoria. My life is really fascinating, you’ll enjoy reading it. For now this posting is a small interruption between Segment 2 and 3 of the Pre-Habiru period in Judaism. I hope you enjoy reading it so far and are looking forward to the next and last segment of Hebrew pre-history.
Herodotus (480 BC) the ancient Greek philosopher called the father of history, at the time of Plato, recorded the migration of the amazing Hyksos people who were Asians but turned east from north-west Africa where they learned from even earlier people (“Sea people”? Chaldeans? Olympian Greeks?) how to build precise pyramids facing the heavens for sun worship, thus inventing astronomy before the Biblical era began (3772 BC). “Hence we may reasonably infer that they served as well for Temples for planetary worship as for observatories.” (US Congressman and scholar Ignatius Donnelly). These incredible Hyksos brought to Egypt some or all the ancient knowledge of the world that they have accumulated in their travels from the region around Tarshish (King Solomon bought artifacts for the First Temple from Tarshish) in western Spain to the Middle-East, passing through Canaan on their way to conquer Egypt in 1800 BC.
In Homeric songs we read about the gardens of Alcinous and Laertes, alluding to a garden of Eden in Babylon, but researching the transcripts I believe that the Hyksos were referring to a place even earlier than 3772 years ago! In fact, Donnelly states, “The land that was the original Garden of Eden was on Mount Olympus of the Greeks.” If that is true, it pre-dates the Genesis Paradise by at least 4300 years, the time of the assumed global-regional Flood in Noah’s Biblical period. I am sorry, I am overwhelmed. I have to take a break from my research. I did not expect to be shocked by some ancient Greek philosophers. If what they are saying is true, then Moses got the description in Genesis of the Babylonian garden of Eden from a much earlier description of a garden that is not mentioned in the Torah. I believe now that the Biblical garden of Eden is a replica of an original garden of Eden that was located in the sunken Azores. That island existed long before Solon the Greek philosopher visited ancient Egypt in 450 BC to record all that information. Plato got the “story” from Solon who got it from the Egyptian priests who got it from Hebrew speaking people who were known before the Habiru times as sea people. (Walter Bauum, Bronze age of Atlantis, Russell-Davis Publications, Jerusalem 2008). Wow! People spoke Hebrew in Atlantis? Impossible. Give me a break. With a little more imagination I may start believing that the Hebrew language was given to the pre-Habiru people by God. Rest assured that I am not going “nuts” but if all this stuff makes some sense to you, I will have a third segment (last) how the sea-people became the Habiru tribe of Avraham Avinu. Given by God it may be, but I not ready to accept that the Hebrew language was given to us by alien ancestors of the Greek gods of Mount Olympus. That would be too far out even for Elior. The next segment of pre-history, thank God, I hope the last one, will make more sense than the second one, but I am not sure of it because I already found out where the idea of circumcision of baby boys came from, my God it’s weird!
Knowledge of people starts with studying their deepest roots. I don’t know how far back do you want me to go in this blog to anchor Judaism in its roots? But I do know that I get emotional trying to go farther than all the Rabbis that I have ever met in my 76 years. I will go as far as I can without losing my sanity. I will go to pre-history because I want my blog to reveal new awesome knowledge about awesome people. This blog will not be dull or restrictive like some other Jewish blogs, repeating standard Jewish stuff. Indeed, to fully appreciate our people’s Godly contributions at the dawn of human history I have decided to embark on an impossible task of searching for pre-historical clues that may have led thousands of years later to historical studies of the ancient Habiru tribes of Mesopotamia who conquered the land of Canaan (future Israel) from Egypt and occupied it 4000 years ago! Please bear with me when you “hit” the various impossible to believe facts or claims about the Jews that will appear in this blog..
The first claim that I came across was that the Hebrew language was given to the Hebrew people by God before Biblical times appeared in the writings of Yair Davidy, a present day Jerusalem scholar (Brit-Am Publication) who believes that all other languages evolved from ancient Hebrew long before the dawn of history. Philologists had traced many words in Latin back to their Hebrew origin and some have traced the use of Hebrew to Peru 9000 years ago! I zeroed in on Peru because of the word Peru and spent at least a 100 hours to find out if it was a Hebrew word. As an Israeli-Jewish scientist and Biblical scholar, who knows the roots of Hebrew words, I was pleased to find out that the name of that central American country not only means “Multiply” in Hebrew, but that the native indians were pre-historic Hebrews! Seems impossible? Ignatius Donnelly, a Congressman from Minnesota, who studied ancient people and languages, discovered that the Peruvian tribes (ruv=rvu=peru and revu means multiply in Hebrew) migrated south from the Ukatan peninsula (small island in Hebrew). He discovered two Mayan civilization tribes names Chipenec (be fond of in Hebrew) and Moche’ (Moshe?) who spoke a Hebrew dialect at the down of civilization! This stuff blew my mind away. I read that these Hebrew speaking Indians, long before the Bible was written spoke my language, although with variations, for example, son in English is ben in Hebrew and was Been in Chipenec, or daughter is bat was batz in Chipenec, or father is abba was abagh, or king is moloch was molo, or September is Tishrai was tsquin, or Seth is Enoch was Enot, and the last one, to give in English is natan in Hebrew, was votan in tribal Peru.
where did these “Hebrew Peruvians,” who built Egyptian pyramids, come from? I traced their pyramids to Egypt at the time of the Hyksos invasion from the north-west 3800 years ago. The Hyksos people brough monotheism to Egypt (The Jewish People, by Eli Barnavi, Schoken Books). Friends, this task of researching the origin of our people is becoming monumental to me, as you are probably sensing from your own feeling, so I will stop for now. I will finish this part of prehistory in Segment 2 soon. Please prepare yourselves to be blown away even more in Segment 2!
Searching for consensus on anything in Judaism is impossible. We need consensus how to achieve peace and prosperity for Israel and Judaism after 60 years of turmoil. Peace will not stay a dream another 60 years. Love must replace ambivalence, knowledge of Israel and Judaism must replace ignorance, working views must become more homogenized, more positive and more action oriented. Herzl statement “Eem Tirzu ein zo agada” must be again empowered by all Jews for it not to remain a prolonged dream. It is sad but true that Rabbis, Jewish and Israeli leaders underestimate the lack of knowledge and understanding of our great country, inspired Bible and painful Jewish history. You all know who said the “Eem tirzu…” but do you know who said “Eem lo ani lee, me lee?” and “Eem lo achshav, ematai?” Few do! Please join me in welcoming the truth into our hearts. Please join me to change our thinking toward the truth. Please join me in learning facts that will make you free and proud to be a part of the Jewish people or associated with Judaism and Israel. If you are not a Jew, you are welcome to join if you want true knowledge and good impact on your life. If you are a Christian Zionist, you are a brother and your place is with us. Join this blog to express the truth. Learn about “replacement theology” and other historical misconceptions. Please join us to advance the truth and make the world a better place to live in. What ever are your beliefs, you have a place in this blog if you want peace and prosperity for Israel. The news will not always be pleasant, but it will always be liberating. Lehitraot.
